Spider season is here!
We don’t mean that because Halloween is around the corner.
It’s the time of the year when those creepy crawlies emerge from the corners of your home and more and more webs start to appear!
You’ve probably seen your friends sharing pictures of giant spiders they’ve found in their homes on social media, and you’ve probably already noticed the cobwebs in your home.
September / October is known as the spider season as it’s the time of year when male spiders usually go on the hunt for a mate, which often leads to them creeping into your home.
Not everyone loves it when spiders move in and become unwanted house guests, so we’ve shared some top tips on how to tackle those webs and send spiders crawling out of your home.
Vacuuming your home regularly will not only keep it clean, but it will also suck up webs.
Make sure you get into in the corners of the room and behind the sofa and radiator too, as this is where spiders are likely to set up camp.
Use an attachment to help reach into those dusty corners and suck the dust and webs straight into the machine.
Clean your ceilings
We don’t always pay attention to our ceilings but this is often a place where webs are lurking. Remove all spider webs from ceilings, lamps and curtain rails, this will make these unwelcome guests look elsewhere for a place to live.
Tackle webs with a feather duster, very useful for those spaces that your vacuum can’t reach.
Deter all Insects
Spiders feed on insects so try and keep insects out of your home by keeping your windows and doors closed, as the nights get shorter and colder, it won’t be hard closing everything up. Avoid using bright lights in your home, as insects are attracted to light.
